We have a mission and we are on the same team - TEAM SILJ. A mission is a challenge and a responsibility. Some people fear knowing their purpose because they don't want to find out they have a mission. Having a mission raises the stakes!

Some missions are sweeping and public. Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had missions. Mother Theresa had a mission. Some missions can be on a much simpler and smaller scale.

If we do nothing more than develop a winning attitude that will be enough to completely change our lives & the lives of others. Like a mental bulldozer, our positive attitudes will go before us knocking down every barrier to our goals, crumbling every impossible wall, no matter how high it might appear, into pebbles of possibility. In this world of reaping and sowing, where we actually do invest in our futures with every thought we think and word we speak, let us
cultivate kindness, if for no other reason than the return on our investment is so much sweeter.

Success in life is not so much a matter of hard work as it is always making certain we are willing and not "won't-ing". "Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough. We must do."

"The secret of getting ahead is getting started." Planning is certainly important, but it is only the beginning. An entire room filled with blueprints will not build a house. At some point, we are going to have to pick up a hammer.

"Every single one of us can do things that no one else can do. We are like violins. We can be used for doorstops or we can make music." Beginning today, allow your dreams to become the bow coaxing a beautiful melody from the strings of your life. Just as no violin was ever meant to be a doorstop neither were you created for a mundane life. The time has come to let the music within you flow. Each of us has a quality we radiate into the world. It can be easy for others to perceive but invisible to us. Personality traits can grow out of, or in reaction to, this quality. Are you an expression of challenge, peace, enlightenment, joy or achievement?

We are our essence at all times, whether we are aware of it or not, from the moment we are born until we die. Imagine for a moment that each of us is a light, walking around in the world, shining. See all the lights (the people), shining together, illuminating everything. Notice that the lights are each a slightly different color, each one unique. What color is your light?

The nicest thing about today, is that it is one of those days perfectly designed for doing whatever must be done to make our dreams come true. Let us - TEAM SILJ - starting today - continue on our purpose together to give the "best for women & girls" right here in San Diego and worldwide.
